You have seen it before; inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract, a disease called Chron’s. And you know, as a certified nursing assistant, what that means for the patient you are treating; abdominal pain, diarrhea, rectal bleeding, arthritis and more. While a physical exam is necessary, so are multiple tests, including a possible upper GI and a colonoscopy. Though neither test is comfortable for the patient, he or she must be assured that the tests administered will be for their best well-being and future health.
